The View Winery & Wards Cidery
Their century old, family-owned estate overlooks Okanagan Lake and is located on the slopes of South East Kelowna. It was originally planted with fresh market apples, pears and cherries, by the family’s patriarch, George Ward.
In the mid 1990’s vitis vinifera wine grapes and traditional cider apples replaced much of the original plantings and in 2006 the family’s historical apple packinghouse was refited into a cellar and tasting bar. The View’s winemaker is Kristy French is from Perth Australia. She has become a master at producing the bright, crisp, cool climate wines and ciders that our region is known for.
A visit to The View and Wards Cidery promises to be a memorable and authentic experience. Their wines and ciders are 100% estate grown, crafted and bottled. The eclectic tasting room is set amid the sights, aromas and sounds of a working cellar. In the sprawling picnic area, you can enjoy a glass of wine or a flight of cider under the boughs of the original old growth apple trees. For those feeling more energetic, they also offer guided educational tours through the orchard and vineyard.
