The tea is a rich amber brew, a beautiful rendition of the aromatic London Fog, with hints of exotic bergamot and vanilla rising in the plume of steam.

Through the triangular tea bag, the whole leaves of organic Ceylon black tea are visible, enclosed in a gossamer pouch. It’s made from natural plant fibre, which leaves nothing behind but pure flavour.

Daniela Cubelic calls this heady blend “Tea of Possibility,” which might also be the mantra for her business, Silk Road Tea. Though her production is relatively small, in the world of fresh, environmentally friendly and exceptionally tasty, whole leaf teas, Cubelic is an innovator.

And she knows that anything is possible, even when it comes to the somewhat thorny issue of what goes into a premium tea bag.
