Gray Monk Estate Winery
Gray Monk’s founders, George and Trudy Heiss, planted their first grapes in Okanagan’s Lake Country in 1972 with a vision of making wines as enjoyable as the ones they’d grown up with in Germany and Austria. That mission fueled the odyssey that led to pioneering the growth of cool-climate varietals and forging a future for estate wineries that evolved into the Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA).
We were the first to bring the famed Pinot Gris grape to B.C. (the name “Gray Monk” is a playful homage to the German nickname). We are the leading producer of VQA Pinot Gris and other cool-climate wines made from heritage vines. Our 25-acre estate winery is open for tastings daily year-round for you to enjoy award-winning wines and panoramic views of Lake Okanagan. Come try the number one selling VQA Pinot Gris in B.C.!
Raise a glass, savour local eats, and enjoy scenic views of Okanagan Valley at the Lookout Restaurant. Always showcasing the best of what the Okanagan has to offer with European-inspired, seasonal, farm-to-table creations by Executive Chef Graham Momer.
