The Kwantlen St. Farmers Market has everything shoppers need. The market features products grown and crafted by local farmers and artisans, highlighting KPU’s own Sustainable Agriculture students.

The Kwantlen St. Farmers Market provides a unique opportunity for market shoppers to engage with student farmers who are learning ecologically sound organic farming practices through KPU’s Sustainable Agriculture and Farm Schools in Richmond and Delta. These students are learning about crop planning and growing, owning a farm business, preparing for  and working at farmers market – all skills that will enable them to successfully run a farm business once they leave school. Your purchases directly help these students learn about farming and support their program.

The Kwantlen St. Farmers Market is a nod to the rich farming and agricultural history of the Richmond area. The local First Nations historically visited the delta to gather berries and to fish. When settlements started in Richmond the land was prepared for farming and fishing continued to grow. As the city developed, our market site at Lansdowne became a popular horse racing track (a history commemorated in our logo). Today, Richmond is a thriving city with significant agricultural and food processing happening in the city.
