Tourism Bowen Island
Bowen Island is a municipality within the Metro Vancouver region, yet we're known as a quiet, relaxing haven surround by lush green forests, rocky beaches and stunning mountain vistas. Only a short drive or bus ride from downtown Vancouver and a scenic 20-minute ferry ride (mini ocean cruise), Bowen Island is the doable Gulf Island. "One of the best days out you can have from Vancouver," Lonely Planet.
Immerse yourself in nature. There are many trails and hikes to explore, including the challenging Mt. Gardner peak. Get out on the water, kayaking, boating or swimming. Or simply kick back on a beach and soak up the sun and views. Bowen Island also has an award-winning golf course with stunning views of Howe Sound.
Bowen Island has a small collection of eateries offering a delicious array of freshly-made foods and beverages and you'll find an interesting collection of boutiques, shops and galleries, showcasing the talents of many local artists and artisan. All of Bowen's shops and restaurants are unique owner-operated establishments – you won't find any franchises or big-box stores here! So if you want to visit a particular business, please plan ahead to make sure they're open when you visit.
